The genesis of tax based public education came out of the city of New York in post civil war industrial expansion. The agreement brokered allowed the government of New York to tax industry for education in exchange for the industrial interests controll over the curriculum and content of texts. They up shot was a just another mill to produce compliant individuals with a modicum of skills commensurate with the complexity of the machinery in place within industry. This has never changed. the result? A populace that would beg for the chance to be screwed left right and sideways from monday. And that is the American reality....

Great clip. As usual, Carlin gets it.

The last time America educated the masses, they grew up and said fuck your war, we ain't fighting. And then decided that they might as well invite blacks to the lunchcounter and women to the high-paying jobs.

No one's making that mistake again. No way.
