Peak Oil: Julian Darley And Richard Heinberg
Julian Darley describes Peak Oil and it's implications in a down to earth talk.
Peak Oil: Fireside Chat with Julian Darley of Post Carbon Institute
Richard Heinberg explores the challenges and limitations we are faced with in dealing with Peak Oil. One of the charts he shows here, I've seen a few other places. It shows that oil exports are in decline now. Consumption in producing countries is outpacing production gains, meaning that these nations have less oil to sell and thus less revenue to depend on.

Wow that was a long one! Hyper inflation hmm you have been on that! I believe we are at peak oil but we will turn to shale oil and oil sand exclusively if these idiots have too in order to stave off facing reality! We are really screwed and no one4 of consequence wants to admit it or hit this head on! I get sick of saying it and sounding doom and gloom but we are in trouble! Julian is stymied so it is no wonder the rest of us are lost! He just said we can do this but I don't think so. Not unless the Government leads the way or facilitates our efforts and there is no way! Wow it just finished that was something! Damn, damn, damn!
I added another video while you were watching.
I met Julian Darley in I think 2003. He had come down to speak at a conference that some of my friends had organized. Our small group met for drinks after. the strange thing was, that there wasn't much to really discuss on the issue. Everyone there pretty much had the same information and had reached the same conclusions.
He understood this issue very well at that time.
I keep thinking that I met Richard Heinberg there, but I'm not sure.
That is pretty cool Wease! He sounded as non plussed as the rest of us. It is too bad you couldn't meet with him now I'm sure you'd have plenty to talk about. The thing is until the Government gets behind any real efforts no one will accomplish anything. Branson, Pickens, Al Gore, they have great 10 point plans but they are worthless unless the Government enables them and they will not!
The last price spike was a dress reheasal, next time it will stick.
