Another New Oil War

Its a little known fact that Somalia is an oil producing nation. Are we preparing to set up more permanent bases there? Is this the beginning of another 'long war'?

Gunships attack suspected al Qaeda fighters in Somalia

Witnesses said 31 civilians, including two newlyweds, died in the assault by two helicopters near Afmadow, a town in an area of forested hills close to the Kenyan border 220 miles southwest of Somalia's capital, Mogadishu. The report could not be independently verified.

It is getting predictable. The resource wars are becoming more and more overt. The imperialist Bush administration only has two more years to go, and they're going to go down guns a blazing.

Sure does get old watching this stuff play out. And, all that money going to waste when we could be putting into removing our dependency on oil to begin with. I just read this article that said a 100 square-mile solar cell farm (i.e., 10x10 mile area) could power the entire country. I wonder how many square miles of solar we could have purchased for the 1/2TRILLION the government has wasted on Iraq!?

Thanks for the answer about the abiotic oil too.
