PRESIDENT George Bush yesterday told leaders of the oil-rich states of the Middle East that they must face up to a future without their precious hydrocarbons.
In a stark warning, he said their supplies were running out and urged them to reform and diversify their economies. The outgoing United States president told the World Economic Forum, meeting in the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, that it was time to "prepare for the economic changes ahead".

OMG! He must be pissed! He's going to spill the beans? What is he trying to do, start a riot? I don't think those people are ready to give up the subsidized lifestyle and start milking camels and goats again, do you?
I saw an article about the Kuwait election. The only thing the politicos mentioned was diversifying the econmoy away from oil. Funny, of all the nations in that region Iran is the only one that looked to the future and tried to diversify into nuclear energy and Bushco wants to bomb them. Madness! The whole middle east could have had the finest thermal solar electrical generation system in the entire world, instead the pissed away their legacy on banking shenanigans. Sad.
Bush is an idiot! He's trying to fear monger them into submission like he does us. It's not going to work. He's Monkey piss and they know it. His word is worth shit. All he is going to do is piss them off and that is what I believe is his ultimate goal.
He is doing the same thing he does to us and the rest of the world to get his way, divide and conquer! Forget it! Besides the middle east there is so much at play right now and all of it out of our control. Our so called leaders don't get the brevity of our situation and continue to play their childish games.
I really don't think the middle east has to worry about us using biofuels and putting them out of business nor do I like the BS that using corn for BIO fuels has raised the price of food. Hell that friggen corporate welfare farm bill included shit loads for farmers to keep their fields fallow. It's all BS.
I was pissed knowing Bush using the excuse of keeping Nuclear knowledge from Iran and he offered to build a nuclear power plant and help Saudi Arabia, chief be headers of 2007 and you know the rest! Bush is a friggen monkey!
It;s pretty obvious he is just trying to make trouble for them because he is an idiot and they told him to piss off. Bush will try to hurt as many people as possible on his way out. He is a sadist and a weak little tool.
The funny thing is that Bush is playing it just the way I hope it goes. People will rebel against the corporations and the war machine and there will be extreme domestic upheaval here at home along with hopeless and very painful oil shortages. That is just what Bush wants because he is a pinhead. Ultimately it will be good for the U.S. though when everyone is forced to face facts.
