Hey Pete!

My Honorable Pete Sessions,

I read with interest a recent article in the Guardian that has this quote;

"The US commander in Iraq, General George Casey, said that the troop withdrawals he had forecast for this spring or summer might have to wait until the end of the year or even 2007. And Paul Eaton, a former American army general in charge of training Iraqi forces until 2004, marked the anniversary with a furious attack on Mr Rumsfeld, saying he was "not competent to lead our armed forces".

I think overall, my fellow citizens and I feel that the war in Iraq is botched and that we are losing it. Sun Tzu teaches us that a foriegn army is at a disadvantage in a war of attrition. And this is what we are fighting in Iraq. As we are fighting a growing number of 'dead enders' that are showing their 'increasing desperation' by forcing our soldiers to higher ground (going back to air power where it's safer for us), we are demonstrating that we are fighting a war of attrition.

So Sun Tzu tells us that in a war of attrition, the army that cannot replenish it's numbers or it's supplies, will be the one to lose. Our recruitment is down, our fuel expenses are destroying budgets, we are being drven back and taking to the air, because we can no longer control what happens on the ground.

So it seems to be time to give up or escalate. If you guys really want to win, it's time to have one of those sneaky late night legislation sessions, and enact a general draft. You can sneak in all sorts of deferments so that rich kids don't have to go. But if you want to really give Iraqis freedom, you need to get hundreds of thousands of more boots on the ground and slaughter Iraqis until they are sick of the death and carnage, and submit to US rule.

Anything less is going to leave the Republican Party with a lost war and a ruined reputation. I know that our leaders will enjoy such a campaign. Bush can play GI Joe on the deck of an aircraft carrier again. The media will swoon over this courageous mission. the radio pundits will call all of you heroes for having the guts to really go after Iraqis, and kill them in order to win their freedom for them.

And it's not like you folks have to worry about elections anymore. With black box unverifiable voting machines being commonplace these days, you don't even need to campaign anymore, to get re-elected. As long as you stand by Bush, the machines will vote for you.

Good luck! I know that you'll do whatever is in your best interest!

Pissing Away Your Money

Wow! The Republicans are really into wasting money!

As I pointed out in my previous blog post, Digging Holes, The rate in which the US debt is rising has increased dramatically and held steady through the Bush years. Perhaps this latest round of liberal free wheeling spending, will signal still another upturn in the rate that our Republican leadership wastes our money?

There's one thing for sure, the current crop of Republicans love to piss away money, more than Democrats and more than any liberal group they might be compared against.

They are out liberaling the liberals!

Johnny I Hardly Knew Ye

You haven't an arm, you haven't a leg,
Haroo! Haroo!
You haven't an arm, you haven't a leg,
Haroo! Haroo!
You haven't an arm, you haven't a leg,
You're an eyeless, noseless, chickenless egg.
You'll have to be put out with a bowl to beg.
Johnny I Hardly Knew Ye!

This Irish tune which dates from the early 1800s, comes from the Irish that fought for the East India Company.

It appears to me that it is a fitting song for our day and time. Just as the Irish were fighting in a war for a profiteering corporation, our soldiers are in Iraq and soon Iran, are fighting for Halliburton. Both generations of soldiers are fighting, dying and being maimed so that corporations, that are essentially in the carrion industry of war profiteering, can see quarterly profit growth.

As they fight and bleed, and are coming home with missing parts, our politicians use this opportunity to posture, collect graft and earn many other personal rewards for sending young men off to fight to make rich men ever wealthier.

Bush has now made it clear that the US is in the business of starting unprovoked wars. In a recent speech he declared that the US may now pre-emptively attack a soveriegn nation, even if it's unknown whether that nation will attack, where it may attack or when. We have essentially declared that if Bush imagines that we might be attacked by someone, someday, then that gives us the right to attack them now.

And as Bush announces that our new doctrine is to start wars to prevent wars, the rhetoric against Iran has taken on a new tone. I believe that war is inevitable.

And it's been inevitable for some time. After all, Halliburton and other carrion industries have a responsibility to their stockholders to increase their business. The only way for them to do this, is for the US government to give them more no-bid contracts. The best way to get a lot of new no-bid contracts is to have a new war. Halliburton then has a duty to it's stockholders to encourage the US to start new wars. And one of the ways that a business encourages the US Government to give them more business is to lobby. As part of the defense industry's lobbying efforts, Halliburton and other carrion industries bribe politicians to start wars.

If Halliburton didn't bribe politicians to start wars, they wouldn't be returning good stockholder value. They would not be satisfying their responsibilities to their stockholders. They would lose market share and their stock value would begin to dip.

So from their perspective, and from the politicians that accept bribes from them, every US Citizen that comes back from a war for profit, in a coffin or with metal tubes for arms and legs, is a success story. When a man comes back from Iraq with his legs missing, it's more money for our congressmen and senators.

And when the public begins an outcry against this in any form, then the bribes need to be upped to keep politicians voting, to keep the death and maiming going. And there's plenty of money to bribe a lot of people with. These wars are going to end up costing the US taxpayers, trillions of dollars before they are over. There's plenty of room in that expense for some money to trickle back.

So the boys from 19th century Ireland and today's young men that are losing their lives, limbs and sanity, can rest assured that their sacrifices are putting lot's of dollars into the pockets of folks like George Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfield, Condaleeza Rice, Hillary Clinton and Pete Sessions. These folks are taking your sacrifices and turning them into cold hard cash to pay for their limos, new paintings, new cars, caviar, and any other luxury their hearts may desire.

Your lost limbs and broken hearts make their dreams come true.

May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of his hand. - Irish Blessing

The March To World War

Today I went from wondering where we were heading to feeling certain I know. I don't know all of the actors, or how it will turn out, but one more piece of information came to my attention that I believe is the piece of the puzzle, I needed to see what the picture is. Thanks to Barry over at CFN for this one.

Wolfowitz and the World Bank
Looks like Paul Wolfowitz is bringing his trademark combination of ideology and incompetence to the World Bank. That, according to an editorial in Egypt's Al Ahram Weekly (translation via Watching America):

In recent months, there had been a massive exodus of top talent from the World Bank. The senior ethics officer of the bank has departed. Also on the exit roster are the vice president for East Asia and the Pacific, the chief legal counsel, the vice president for environmentally and socially sustainable development, the bank's top managing director, the director of institutional integrity (who monitors internal and external corruption), and the head of the information solutions group.

I knew that Wolfowitz had been named head of the World Bank by Bush. But time has passed, and I've seen little on the topic. I admit, I forgot it. But this is an important development. The World Bank is the economic sledgehammer used to by the US to keep other nations in line. Money is loaned to various nations to fight poverty and to aid in economic development, in exchange for complete economic control of that nation. The money loaned to help the country's economic development, is often used to buy shoes in Paris, or for state dinners in Milan. The poor in these countries, often see no benefit from the loans, as a few individuals siphon off all the money, leaving the nation riddled in debt and under the control of the World Bank. Essentially, people who don't own the country, sell it off to the World Bank for a huge profit. The international community sees this is a legitimate and legal exchange.

So what does this mean with the World Bank firmly in the hands of the Bush Cabal? It means that this very powerful entity that has been practicing exploitation with it's own strange mix of ethics and fiscal responsibility, will be losing all of that. Graft and corruption will take over, and it will lose it's power to manage it's assets or be an instrument of control.

Rather than being an entity that can shape and control the economies of nations then slowly milk them of their worth like a well evolved parasite. I believe it will transform into a completely predatory entity, that will be used to completely destroy nations. It will become an instrument of war.

The Bush Cabal is well known for it ability to wreak vengeance and to smite it's enemies. It's well know that this confederation completely lacks management skills and is unable to organize or create lasting institutions or alliances. We saw exactly how organized these people are, and the extent of their ability to overcome crisis, when Katrina hit. Rather than manage their interests and milk their opportunities. They are predators that attack and consume their prey, then move on to the next target. The World Bank will become an instrument of this cabal and will be used from now on as a weapon, rather than a management center.

And this stems I believe from what drives these men. They are men of conquest. They don't organize, or manage. They don't garden. They don't make stuff. They don't repair things. They don't provide any benefit to society. They rule, they conquer, and this is what gives them pleasure. They need conquest, because through conquest, they gain a sense of purpose. In between conquests we've seen them throw tantrums, become sulking, we've seen them behave like children. Their sycophants fear them during these periods and do anything they can to please them, to no effect. When they are conquering, the become magnaminous. They puff with pride. Their syncophants become fawning and trip over each other to give these conquerors praise.

They have the emotional maturity of five year olds, but they control the fate of all of us. And there are so many of them. They all know the secret handshake and they have organized, like playground bullies. Playground bullies with armies and nuclear weapons.

And so we come to the story of Cheney Vs. Iran.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Vice President Dick Cheney said Tuesday that Iran will not be allowed to have a nuclear weapon and warned "the United States is keeping all options on the table in addressing the irresponsible conduct of the regime."

Cheney said the Iranian government "continues to defy the world with its nuclear ambitions" and that the issue may soon go before the U.N. Security Council.

"The Iranian regime needs to know that if it stays on its present course, the international community is prepared to impose meaningful consequences," Cheney said in a speech to the to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, an influential pro-Israel lobbying group.

He said the United States joins "other nations in sending that regime a clear message: we will not allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon."

Of course, enrichment is a process that all civilian nuclear reactors require. We've learned that Iran may still be a decade away from even producing civilian grade uranium and that there is no way they can make the high yield uranium needed for modern compact nukes.

In fact they've been working on this since the 1970s, when the US was helping them get started in their nuclear program.

If they can make civilian grade uranium in a decade, they will be able to make low yield atomic weapons. They will be bulky, primitive ones.

And Bush has made it clear, if he wants to come after you, your only hope of stopping him is to obtain nuclear weapons. The stories of Iraq and North Korea, showed the world exactly what was needed to prevent a US invasion. Saddam didn't have WMDs and Bush knew it, so he was invaded. North Korea has nukes, so Bush backed down and quit puffing his chest at them. Bullies won't fight a fair fight. They always go for easy prey. So Iran knows that if they don't get nukes, the US will got to war with them.

They may or may not have had plans to obtain nuke before, but Bush has sent them a clear message that they'd better get them soon.

And how do we know Russia hasn't loaned them a couple for defensive purposes? Russia has announced that they gave Iran a few Sunburn missiles. These missiles are designed to travel at hypersonic speeds and take out the world's largest aircraft carriers. They brag that no system can shoot them down in flight. So if we can believe the Russians, the Iranians do have the capability to sink the USS Nimitz.

And that brings us to the insanity that I think our War President is going to give to us. I think at this point, it's very clear that a war with Iran is a done deal. We're going to bomb Iran and begin another expensive and protracted war. We'll see 40% of US oil imports dry up. Oil will spike in price and the US economy will decline. It won't matter what price gasoline sells at, because it won't be delivered everywhere.

Our leaders will blame Iran and all of the Muslim Terrorists for this crisis, and Congress will be forced to implement a general draft with lot's of options for deferments. We'll finally actually look like a nation at war, with high unemployment and rationing.

The World Bank will be used in the war to economically destroy nations that go against the US. Things will escalate and more nations, starved of oil will pitch into the fight.

We'll have a World War. Peak Oil will be 2005. Life for all of us will suck.

Or I'm just making all of this up. Oh God, I hope I'm completely wrong. But the Bush Cabal needs a fix. Our War President needs more war to build his ego. And of late, he seems confident, and happy. I believe that means that he's looking forward to another major conquest.

Bush made it clear in his first term that he is a War President. He made it clear that he wants to be remembered as a War President. War is the legacy that he will work for, until he is no longer president. MAke no mistake, Bush will always be, The War President.

Jesus Christ

JESUS CHRIST
(Woody Guthrie)

Jesus Christ was a man who traveled through the land
Hard working man and brave
He said to the rich, "Give your goods to the poor."
So they laid Jesus Christ in his grave.

Jesus was a man, a carpenter by hand
His followers true and brave
One dirty little coward called Judas Iscariot
Has laid Jesus Christ in his grave

He went to the sick, he went to the poor,
And he went to the hungry and the lame;
Said that the poor would one day win this world,
And so they laid Jesus Christ in his grave.

He went to the preacher, he went to the sheriff,
Told them all the same;
Sell all of your jewelry and give it to the Poor,
But they laid Jesus Christ in his grave.

When Jesus came to town, the working folks around,
Believed what he did say;
The bankers and the preachers they nailed him on a cross,
And they laid Jesus Christ in his grave.

Poor working people, they follered him around,
Sung and shouted gay;
Cops and the soldiers, they nailed him in the air,
And they nailed Jesus Christ in his grave.

Well the people held their breath when they heard about his death,
And everybody wondered why;
It was the landlord and the soldiers that he hired.
That nailed Jesus Christ in the sky.

When the love of the poor shall one day turn to hate.
When the patience of the workers gives away
"Would be better for you rich if you never had been born"
So they laid Jesus Christ in his grave.

This song was written in New York City
Of rich men, preachers and slaves
Yes, if Jesus was to preach like he preached in Galillee,
They would lay Jesus Christ in his grave.

Bush Says We Should Not Protect Our Economy

As Bush tours India and promotes nuclear proliferation, he's had some interesting things to save about outsourcing and the damage it is doing to our economy.

"Some people believe the answer to this problem is to wall off our economy from the world through protectionist policies. I strongly disagree."

"The United States will not give into the protectionists and lose these opportunities," Bush said.

"For the sake of workers in both our countries, America will trade with confidence."

So protecting jobs and our economy is something Bush won't consider in any way, shape or form. He is against any action that will slow or deter the further erosion of the US Economy and the race to the bottom.

Instead, wants the government subsidized rape our our well being, our economy and our livilihoods by contuing anti-American policies that encourage outsourcing, the flight of capital and businesses to other countries.

Protection of our jobs, our ecoomy and our businesses is something that Bush is steadfast in preventing.

And with Katrina, it's clear he doesn't even want our lives and cities protected.

Further, Bush goes on to describe the dictarship in Pakistan as a democracy.

"I believe that a prosperous, democratic Pakistan will be a steadfast partner for America a peaceful neighbor for India and a force for freedom and moderation in the Arab world."

Or is he just blowing wind? Is he asking Pakistan to change it's government from a military dictatorship to a democracy or just trying to trick us into thinking a miliatry dictatorship is a democracy?

Perhaps Bush believes that military dicatorships are democratic governments? That must be it.

Still he's a media darling. The press loves him. They still line up to fawn over him and lick his privates.

And people ask me why I'm pessimistic about how we'll deal with Peak Oil? We are dealing with Peak Oil. This is how our government and our leaders have chosen to prepare. This is as good as it gets. And no, don't expect a reach around.

Is There Any Reason To Be Surprised?

You bet there is! Can you believe the AP actually reported a hugely negative Bush story and the major networks actually aired it? You can see what I'm talking about at Crooks And Liars.

Why are the major media outlets airing trughtful things about Bush? Isn't it against their policy to air stories that show the real Bush? Aren't they required to only report the pleasant fictions? I'm flabbergasted!

I don't think the fact that the President was well briefed about the coming destruction, and that he lied about it afterwards was a real surprise to most people. The President argued that his hand picked appointees weren't worth crap and withheld information about Katrina from him, as he flew around the country partying and having fun. And while lazing at the Ranch, flying to fund raisers and have a generally good time, he was unaware that a hurricane would and did cause massive damage in New Orleans.

Fact is, he knew all along. He knew there would be massive deaths. He knew there would be massive damage. He knew it would be a disaster. He knew, but he didn't care. He had other priorities. He was making his own reality. In our reality, the death of thousands of Americans is a bad thing. In Bush's reality, this is a non-event except that it intereferes with vacationing and party going. It's a nuisance that he'd just rather pretend never happened.

The federal government withheld support and services because it just doesn't care. Bush and Brownie didn't want these troubles to interfere with partying, and eating at expensive restuarants. They had the power and authority to make a difference. But that would've entailed work, skipping lobster dinners and not making it to parties. Had they done their jobs, they could've made a difference.

They instead chose to just let people die.
